If you’re like me, you’re looking for creative ways that will keep your child entertained without breaking the bank. I especially like these activities when I feel a *little* guilty for how much TV time my daughter’s been getting. Kinetic Sand is one of her favorite activities. I really like pulling this out on rainy days. So here is how to make your own Kinetic Sand activity bin!

What You Need
I kept my bin very simple. You can buy a whole kit with the bin and toys, but hey I’m a frugal lady! So here’s what I did instead.
I bought the following at the Dollar Store:
- a plastic bin
- sand toys
- toy figurines
Then I grabbed a bag of Kinetic Sand at Walmart. There are ways that you can make your own if you want to save even more money, but I knew the real thing wasn’t going to dry out so I figured that was worth the extra little bit of money. All together I spent about $15.
Another option is to make Moon Sand to go into the bin. I haven’t tried this myself but I’m very intrigued! This is the recipe I would follow if I ever did make it. What I like about this is it’s only two ingredients!

Well, there you have it. Short and sweet. My daughter loves her Kinetic Sand activity bin. It usually keeps her occupied for at least an hour! Perfect for when you’re trying to get other things done (or when you just need a little quiet time, lol).
